New Pet Product Manufactured in Lansing
The Poochie Bowl is the “eargonomically” designed food and water bowl for dogs with long or exceptionally furry ears. With its unique shape, the Poochie Bowl allows for easy access to the tasty morsels within, while the ears gently slide alongside tapered walls, remaining outside. This keeps the ears dry and clean, while most importantly preventing serious infections.
The Poochie Bowl also features a spill-proof travel lid that self stores on the bottom of the bowl, further acting as a non-skid base. The anti-tip design is also ideal for: boating, RVs, camping and other forms of travel.
Joe Rabideau, Poochie Bowl Founder, won The Hatching, a monthly idea pitch competition in July 2013, which was co-sponsored by the Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP) and Spartan Innovations. Since winning The Hatching, the Poochie Bowl team has been fortunate to utilize several local resources available through LEAP and Spartan Innovations, including 3D Lansing with its prototyping abilities.
The Poochie Bowl is proudly manufactured in Lansing, Michigan by Diamond Engineering.
As the Poochie Bowl’s Vice-President, Christopher Allen explained, “Keeping the manufacturing of the Poochie Bowl here in Lansing was extremely important to our team. Local manufacturing means we have a better grasp on quality control and help create or retain Lansing jobs.”
After 10 months of 3D print prototypes and testing, the Poochie Bowl will be launching its retail sales locally at AnnaBelle’s Pet Station and Pruess Pets in June 2014. Allen added, “The Poochie Bowl has been a labor of love for our team over the last 10 months and we are ecstatic to see our hard work pay off and finally be able to deliver the Poochie Bowl to Lansing area retailers.”
