Stormy Labor Day Forecast
Labor Day Monday is looking to be very warm, humid, and stormy. The day will probably start out with a clear morning, but the afternoon and night are different.
Starting around 2:00-4:00 p.m. we will see pop-up scattered thunderstorms across most of Lower Michigan. We will be in the warm sector of a low pressure system, and with high temperatures in the mid 80s and dew points around 70 degrees (which is very uncomfortably humid) there will be plenty of fuel for thunderstorms.
These storms are likely to be strong and continue into the evening. There is a chance some of these storms could be severe.
Later that night, a cold front will pass overhead which will likely produce a line of thunderstorms. These storms could also be severe.
Rain will continue into early Tuesday before skies clear up for the middle of the week.
We will monitor these storms as they develop Monday. Please be aware and plan ahead if you have any outdoor plans. When these storms pop up, they could intensify quickly.
