Lansing Black Chamber Commerce Honors Community Leaders
The Lansing Black Chamber of Commerce (LBCC) will honor five outstanding Lansing-area community leaders at its annual black-tie gala, The 2014 Community Pillar Awards Gala, Saturday, April 26, 2014 from 7:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., at the Country Club of Lansing, located at 2200 Moores River Drive.
Each year The Pillar Awards recognizes community and business leaders that exemplify the spirit of the LBCC’s 5 Pillars of Service. The recipients of the 2014 Community Pillar Awards include: Wendell Barron, Barbara Roberts Mason, James W. Butler III, Renee Freeman and A. Gregory Eaton.
The theme of this year’s event is titled, “Building Pillars That Lift a Community”, will pay tribute to contributions each individual has made to the greater community in the areas of: Advocacy, Access to Capital, Chamber Development, Best Practices and Contracting.
The special guest for the evening is Gerald Moore, Michigan District Director, U.S. Small Business Administration. Tony Baltimore, with the Office of Congressman Mike Rogers will serve as the Master of Ceremonies during the formal program and awards ceremony.
One Love Global, Inc. is a strategic partner and non-profit fiduciary for the 2014 Community Pillar Awards Gala. A portion of the proceeds from the gala will go to the support One Love Global’s local youth leadership programs.
