Lacey Holsworth Buffalo Wild Wings Fundraiser Goes Until 2 a.m.
Two years ago, senior center Adreian Payne went on a tour of Sparrow Hospital with the MSU basketball team and met six-year-old Lacey Holsworth, who was recently diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of childhood cancer.
When the team went to leave, she asked him to stay with her, and they’ve been close since. Adreian and Lacey text and tweet often, cheering the other on as Adreian fights injuries and fatigue and Lacey undergoes daily radiation treatments after her cancer returned last fall.
The Lansing community has rallied around Lacey and her road to remission with bracelets, shirts, and fundraisers. Tonight until 2 a.m., 10 percent of all sales at both mid-Michigan Buffalo Wild Wing locations (Lansing and East Lansing) will go to the Holsworth family.
Also at Buffalo Wild Wings, shirts with a heart formed from basketballs with a crown and Lacey’s motto, “One Step Closer” will be for sale for $10 with every penny made going to the Holsworth family.
