How to Help the Victims of Typhoon Haiyan

A warning for people anxious to help with the relief effort in the Philippines--

The Better Business Bureau says this weekend's typhoon is just the kind of disaster con artists wait for.

Fake charities are already popping up, so be sure to do your homework before you donate.

The BBB suggests giving to reputable organizations--- like the Red Cross and UNICEF.

We've compiled a list of organizations that you can donate to:

Philippine Red Cross - a branch of the American Red Cross that will help mobilize teams on the ground with rescue and relief efforts.

UNICEF - This organization will help children get access to medical supplies and clean water, which is nearly impossible to find after a massive natural disaster.

Save the Children - Donations will help children and families in the Philippines, Laos and Vietnam. 10% of every donation goes toward preparing for any future disasters in the area.

Habitat for Humanity - Donations will help create shelter repair kits for families who have to rebuild their homes.

World Vision - The organization is working to get food and resources to people in evacuation centers.

Salvation Army - You can donate toward its relief efforts online or text TYPHOON to 80888 to donate $10, which will be applied to your next cell phone bill.

You'll find links to those organizations below.
