2014 Lansing Home and Garden Show
With hundreds of exhibitors, a dozen feature gardens, five seminar stages, and much more, the 2014 Lansing Home and Garden Show packs the MSU Pavilion with everything attendees need to create their dream home and tackle this year’s landscape projects.
The 2014 Lansing Home and Garden Show runs from Thursday, March 13 through Sunday, March 16. Times are as follows: Thursday 3PM-9PM, Friday 12PM-9PM, Saturday 10AM-9PM, and Sunday 10AM-5PM.
Admission is $9.00 for adults, $4.00 for children 6-14, and free for children under the age of five.
This is the show that gives visitors their one chance each year to explore hundreds of local businesses and find all the products and services they need for their homes – inside and outside – in one place. Roofing, replacement windows, kitchen remodeling, refinishing furniture, landscape design – if you can think of it, it’s at the show, offered by area businesses that care about the community.
Show producer Carolyn Alt says there is so much to offer, it's difficult to sum up everything at the show.
"There is something for everyone. This is my challenge to the people I know and meet: try to come to the show and not find something that adds something to your life," Alt says.
"The show is a great place if you have projects in mind - that's where the show gets its starting point. If you're the type of person who is always dreaming about improvements, it's a great place for that. At the same time, even if you're not working on a project but you're into gardening, it's a great place to go because you can see gardens, listen to seminars. These are top state experts at the show."
Alt says that education is a key part of the show, and the reason why the organizers work diligently to plan seminar schedules to pique everyone's interest.
One of the Seminar Stage Headliners is Dan Faires, from HGTV's DanMade, will be making an appearance at this year's Home and Garden Show. Dan was named Fan Favorite during his stint on Design Star and currently has his own web series.
Well-known local designer Leslie Hart-Davidson. Leslie will present seminars, including 50 Shades of Beige, Is Your Relationship Ready for a Remodel?, DIY "Pin"terior Design Projects from Pinterest, and Reduced, Reused & Recycled Design. Plus, the stage offers more seminars with local experts.
Homeowners continue to be excited about great outdoor living spaces. In addition to seeing dozens of great exhibitors with products and services in this area, visitors can also learn how to do-it-themselves with free project seminars. The Cran-Hill Ranch Family Zone is a great spot for fun kids activities, and the Standard Flower Show is the largest flower design show and competition in the country.
