Thanksgiving Game Day Info: Lions vs. Packers
It's a Thanksgiving day time-honored tradition, right alongside the potatoes, gravy, and stuffing: the Lions versus the Packers.
After starting the season as a rip-roaring undefeated team, the Lions have faced a couple of setbacks on the road to the big Thanksgiving Day game. But despite those setbacks, the Lions go into this game 7-3, with some mighty fine wins under their belt.
And even though the Green Bay Packers are 10-0 and a fierce opponent, one only needs to be reminded of the 1962 Thanksgiving Day game between the two teams. In that game, the Lions handed the 10-0 Packers their only loss of the season.
Can history repeat itself?
Time will only tell. Tune in to the game on FOX, with kickoff scheduled for 12:30 p.m. - just in time to grab some pre-Thanksgiving dinner treats and settle in for four quarters of football.
The Lions have the advantage of a sold-out crowd at Ford Field, a place where the roof might just burst open at any given possession by the visiting team.
And certainly more fans will be tuned in to this game than there has been in the last several seasons.
Let's hope the Lions give us yet another win to be thankful for this year.
