Quiet Riot's "Cum on Feel the Noize" took on a whole new meaning with a revamp of the lyrics and a group of young girls singing during a Super Bowl commercial. With a slot won in a contest, GoldieBlox from Oakland, Calif., made an empowering little girl anthem "Come on Bring the Toys."
The startup made Super Bowl history by becoming the first small business to have a commercial air on TV during the big game.. According to CNN, “GoldieBlox won a contest run by Intuit [QuickBooks] where the grand prize was the 30-second ad that [debuted] during the third quarter of the game. Intuit will pick up the $4 million cost.”
"Come on ditch your toys, girls make some noise. More than pink, pink, pink, we want to think," sang little girls in the sput as they ran with their dolls, Easy Bake Ovens and princess castles to an open park where they stacked their pink toys into the shape of a rocket. And with a stark salute to their control team, they armed the contraption for lift-off while singing "Gonna build, gonna grow our minds, let me tell you honey/Right now's our time -- girl's build like all the boys."
Billed as "toys for future innovators," GoldieBlox manufactures girl-inspired building blocks and other construction toys.
An intriguing Super Bowl commercial that really does make you "think, think, think."
